We have been looking after Northern Beaches families for more than 60 years.
Dr Henry Bernard took over this general practice in 1956. In the years since, he and his three children - all doctors who worked in the practice - have cared for many thousands of Manly, Warringah and Pittwater patients. In the case of some of our earliest patients, two generations of the Bernard family have provided health care for four generations of their families.
When Dr Henry eventually retired in 2003, son Nicholas took his place. As the nature of private practice has become more complex and more specialised, we have responded accordingly. Today, Narrabeen Family Medical has nine doctors, two practice nurses and five receptionists on staff. To accommodate everyone and provide an enhanced experience for our patients, we moved to more modern, spacious and pleasant premises in November 2008.
We continue to evolve our health care services to reflect family lifestyles in this area.
We put extra emphasis on skin and mole exams as well as periodic health checks for men, women and children. Specific services include tests for cholesterol and blood sugar levels. Breast screens and Pap smears. Cardiovascular risk assessments. Weight loss and quit smoking advice. Prostate screens. Baby immunisations and four-year-old Healthy Kids Checks.
We are also equipped to carry out electrocardiogram (ECG) and lung function tests. We stay up to date with the latest developments in travel medicine. And we even offer anti-wrinkle treatments.
We are fully accredited.
Narrabeen Family Medical enjoys full accreditation with Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited, the leading provider of accreditation to general practices in this country.
